I found cheap air tickets to Macau for the weekend before Xmas and got 3 friends to go with me. 3 full days - 2 nights in Macau and 1 in Zhu Hai (China). Getting to Zhu Hai is easy, just cross the Macau border/custom.
Zhu Hai is highly recommended by friends, saying that it is a place for cheap shopping and seafood. Indeed, I bought a lot of stuff there and had a very cheap seafood dinner!
Macau is interesting - for its Portugese styled buildings/streets etc.. Casino hotels are everywhere and not forgetting the infamous Venetian Hotel (Venice-styled). Food is not exactly cheap there. MOP is the currency but they accept HKD though.
I tried my luck at the Grand Lisboa and the Venetian Casino; no luck! Well, only gambled a little at the Roulette table. It seems that there is not a wide variety of games though. Very posh casinos and hotels ;)
