Shopping spree in HK

A last minute decision landed me into a shopping trip to Hong Kong with a gal friend :p yes, only for shopping! well, quite a bit of pubbing and meeting up with some HK friends too ;) no time for sight-seeing as there are too many shops; the phrase to describe is "shop til you drop".. I was there last Wed - Sun. HK is a shopping paradise - you can get some cheap and expensive stuff there..
Named brands are said to be cheaper as they have no tax. cool.. We spend most days shopping and eating.. from Roasted goose to BBQ pork, Wanton noodles, Fish noodles, Beef brisket noodles, Dim Sum and the infamous Smelly beancurd & Curry fishballs (from roadside stalls). ha, the "smelly beancurd" is not that smelly or disgusting after all. I was told that it used to stink a lot last time! Perhaps they changed due to people's taste/likings.
Like Singapore, HK is a very congested country (bigger than Singapore though). Standard of living and pace of work/life are higher than in Singapore. People walk very fast on the streets and it's not uncommon to be bumped around :p You gotta watch your steps!

This time of the year was the coldest period of HK in history. It got better when I arrived though; those days were like 12 - 15 degrees.

I was lucky because my gal friend has a Singapore friend working in HK now and we put up at her apartment. The location is extremely good; at Central in HK Island. This is where all the financial offices and big shopping malls are. It is somewhere on the peak, thus we get a fantastic view of the city. Therefore, we need not go up to the peak. The sky ain't clear (due to the long-time pollution) anyway..
